The Broward Center for the Performing Arts Web site has gone bilingual, with a Spanish-language version that mirrors exactly the English edition. Online visitors can access the Spanish edition by clicking on a "En Español" hyperlink on the home page.
President Mark Nerenhausen said the center is among the first of its kind in the nation to establish dual sites. He said that recent surveys indicate that most Hispanic patrons are bilingual but prefer to receive their information in Spanish. More than 35 percent of the center's ticket sales are via the Internet.
The Broward Center manages the English edition of the site, while the Spanish edition is designed and updated by Boca Raton-based technology company MotionPoint.
